Why your Refrigerator isn’t Cooling
Diagnostics and treatment are only possible if you can identify the problem. The best way to deal with the problem is properly. This is why we offer a comprehensive list of all the possible reasons your refrigerator isn’t cooling.
1) Thermostat Setting is Off
Do you wonder why your refrigerator isn’t cooling down? It almost seems although it is obvious, sometimes the thermostat dial is set too low.
Your refrigerator temperature may rise. If your refrigerator temperature rises, it could be a sign that you are not following the correct procedure.
Children or guests in your home who don’t respect the rules and change the thermostat? The thermostat numbers can be confusing for many people.
Do not make adjustments in the wrong direction. Remember that power level is indicated by numbers, so higher numbers mean that your power level will be greater
Refrigerators should be kept at room temperature.
2) Blocked Vents
The series of thermostats that control the temperature inside your refrigerator and keep it cool is called a “series” of external and internal vents. For a consistent look, you will need to have both internal and external vents. It is vital that vents are open during extreme temperatures. Many times people will block the vents of food storage because they don’t know what to do and unintentionally store additional objects around the refrigerator (i.e. grocery bags). These vents can be partially blocked by dirt and other debris food. It is possible for a blocked vent to affect the internal temperature. They should be kept as clear as possible.
3) Dirty Condenser Coils
Is your refrigerator not cooling but still glowing? This is the answer. The condenser coil heats the refrigerator. If the coils fail to work, if your refrigerator is dirty, it will work harder to release heat. It is recommended that the condenser coil be cleaned at least once per year.
You should clean your kitchen even more often if there is a lot of dust or pet hair. You can clean a dirty coil with a household cleaner. However, it may cause performance to suffer. Use a vacuum or use a long brush. You should clean it so it can go back to work and release heat from within.
4) Condenser Fan Motor Is Broken
If your refrigerator is not cooling enough, you might have a problem with the condenser fan motor. The condenser motor draws air to cool them. Your fan will not work if it isn’t functional. The refrigerator can overheat easily and not cool off properly. Locate your condenser motor fan motor under or behind your refrigerator. The fan motor may not be working and may need an expert repair
5) The Evaporator Fan motor is not working
Depending on which model you have, there may be more evaporator fan motors. If you have only one fan on your unit, it will be found in the freezer compartment. The cold is circulated by a fan motor in the evaporator fan. Air from the evaporator coils is circulated throughout the compartment. If the fan is inoperable or your motor doesn’t work then there may be a cold breeze but not a cool refrigerator compartment.
6) Control boards are damaged
Modern refrigerators have at least two circuit boards. The main control is the one that controls it.
The temperature control board and the secondary board could be damaged. Control boards may be responsible for temperature problems. Troubleshooting and repairing problems is not an easy task for novices.
It is best to call a professional service provider if you suspect there may be a control board failure
